Kevin M. Vander Schel is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Gonzaga University since Fall 2016. Previously affiliated with Villanova University, University of Houston, and Boston College, he specializes in modern Christian systematic theology with primary research areas in theological anthropology, hermeneutics, political theology, theologies of sin and grace, and Christian ethics.
His scholarship focuses on Friedrich Schleiermacher and Bernard Lonergan, bridging theological methodology with contemporary social issues. Recent publications examine grace theology in Schleiermacher's dogmatic framework, social sin ecology, and Frankfurt School critical theory intersections with Christian ethics.
