Kevin Li is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting) from UC Berkeley, an MBA from NYU Stern, and a Bachelor's in Economics from Peking University. Prior to academia, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, WestLB AG, and Barclays Global Investors. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and passed CFA Level III.
His research focuses on earnings persistence, cost of capital, regulatory disclosures, and the role of accounting information in investor decision-making. His work has been published in top journals like Journal of Accounting and Economics and covered by Bloomberg, CNBC, and NYT. He serves on editorial boards of Review of Accounting Studies and The International Journal of Accounting.
Teaching emphasizes financial accounting, integrating research insights and practical experience. He taught Intermediate Accounting I/II during 2020-21.
