Kevin Kochersberger

Dr. Kevin Kochersberger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech, with a career spanning academic research, technical innovation, and educational leadership. His work focuses on autonomous aerial systems, robotic control, and applied aerodynamics, particularly through the Uncrewed Systems Laboratory. Kochersberger's research has pioneered UAV-based radiation detection, 3D terrain mapping, and low-resource drone applications, including establishing the African Drone and Data Academy in Malawi.
