Kevin Ingersent is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida and currently serves as Interim Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (1990) and is a member of the American Physical Society.

His research focuses on strongly correlated electron systems, particularly the Kondo effect, non-Fermi-liquid physics, and quantum phase transitions in magnetic nanostructures and metals. His work explores the interplay between local spin dynamics and extended degrees of freedom like conduction electrons and electromagnetic fluctuations.
Recent publications highlight his contributions to quantum criticality in Anderson/Kondo models, spin-orbit coupling effects in graphene, and entanglement entropy in critical systems. He teaches courses in condensed matter physics, quantum mechanics, and theoretical physics at the University of Florida.
Kevin is affiliated with the UF Condensed Matter Theory Group, UF Center for Condensed Matter Sciences, and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, where he contributes to theoretical studies in condensed matter physics.
