Dr. Kevin Granville is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Science. His research focuses on forest fire prevention, climate change impacts, weather data interpolation, operations research, logistics optimization, and queueing theory. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo.
Key research areas include analyzing the effects of industrial forestry regulations on wildland fire frequency and growth, evaluating interpolation methods for fire weather indices in Ontario, and developing maintenance models for dynamic systems. He has presented at major conferences such as the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) and CanQueue, addressing topics like fire management protocols and stochastic system behaviors.
His recent publications emphasize interdisciplinary applications of statistical methodologies to environmental challenges. His work combines quantitative techniques with real-world fire management practices to improve risk mitigation strategies.
