Kevin Glenn

Kevin Glenn, MD, MS, is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa's Carver College of Medicine. He is affiliated with the Division of General Internal Medicine and the Hospital Medicine program, where he contributes to clinical care, education, and research. He currently serves as Interim Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine.

Dr. Glenn’s research spans hospital medicine and molecular biology, with a focus on improving healthcare delivery through telemedicine, transitions of care, and hospitalist models. His work includes implementing virtual hospitalist systems for rural access and reducing 30-day readmissions in veteran populations. He also investigates protein quality control mechanisms in neurodegenerative disorders such as DYT1 dystonia and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, contributing to understanding molecular pathways in disease pathogenesis.

His recent publications highlight innovations in telehealth for SARS-CoV-2 monitoring and system-level interventions in hospital medicine. The research bridges clinical application and laboratory science, reflecting a dual commitment to patient care and basic science inquiry.
