Kevin Fox Gotham is Professor of Sociology and Director of Graduate Programs, Grants, and Research (2015-2020) in Tulane University's School of Liberal Arts. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Kansas and maintains office 220C in Newcomb Hall. His research spans forensic sociology, environmental criminology, security management, real estate policy, and tourism economics.
Gotham is board-certified in security management (CPP) by ASIS International and has authored over 100 publications including books on urban redevelopment and crisis cities. His research has received over $2 million in external funding from NSF and Louisiana Board of Regents.
Recent work examines flood risk perception, premises security litigation, climate adaptation conflicts, and tourism gentrification. His publications appear in top journals including American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, and Urban Studies.
