Kevin Dettmar is the W.M. Keck Professor of English and Director of The Humanities Studio at Pomona College. He specializes in British & Irish modernism, particularly James Joyce, and contemporary popular music. Dettmar has held academic positions at Loyola Marymount University, Clemson University, Columbia University, and Southern Illinois University before joining Pomona in 2008.

Research & Interests: Dettmar’s current project involves editing James Joyce’s unpublished correspondence for Oxford University Press. His work bridges literary and music criticism, exemplified in Gang of Four: Entertainment!, which analyzes the band’s influence through literary and rock-critical lenses. He also co-edits the Modernist Literature & Culture series for Oxford University Press.
