Kevin Chambers is an Associate Professor of History at Gonzaga University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1999.
Dr. Chambers teaches upper-division courses in Latin American history and Historical Methods, alongside lower-division courses in United States history. His research focuses on Paraguayan history, particularly:
- Social history under General Stroessner
- Jesuit missions in colonial Paraguay
- War and state-building in national Paraguay
- Evolving rural landscapes from the 1500s to present
- Religion and culture in colonial Paraguay
- Guarani-speaking populations
He has contributed to The South American Handbook (2002) and received a Fulbright Fellowship for research in Paraguay (1996). Dr. Chambers maintains active engagement with Guarani cultural studies and colonial history narratives.
