Kevin Batts is an Adjunct Professor at Lipscomb University's Institute for Law, Justice and Society, teaching courses on Evidence & Criminal Investigation, Ethics & Laws of Compliance, and The Law & Drug Enforcement. He holds a J.D. and M.B.A. and serves as Recovery Court Director and Attorney for the 23rd Judicial District. Batts is Legal Counsel and Board Member of the Twenty-Third District Judicial Advocates, a non-profit supporting individuals and families in the judicial process. Formerly, he served as past-president of the Tennessee Association of Recovery Courts and held roles in the State Public Defender system and USDA for 17 years each. Additionally, he anchored radio news for WSM, WLAC, and WMAK for 32 years.

His expertise spans legal compliance, criminal justice reform, and addiction recovery advocacy. Batts’ career blends legal practice with media and community service, including three inductions into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame and leadership in religious youth programs at Mt. Juliet Church of Christ.
