معرفی
Dr. Kevin Barnett serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Mercer University's School of Engineering, where he has held faculty positions since 1993 and department chairmanship since 2008.
Education:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Clemson University (1993)
- MS in Electrical Engineering, University of Tennessee, Knoxville (1988)
- BS in Physics, Morehead State University (1986)
- BSE in Electrical Engineering, North Carolina State University (1986)
His research focuses on Digital Signal Processing and Analog Filters, with significant contributions to signal estimation techniques using orthogonal functions. His work bridges theoretical signal processing with practical circuit implementations, particularly in filter synthesis and time-domain analysis.
His publication trends emphasize foundational signal processing methodologies, with recurring themes in mathematical modeling of dynamic systems and optimization of analog/digital filter structures.
Scientific Awards:
- Clayton R. Paul Excellence in Teaching Award (2025, 2020)
- 7-time School of Engineering Teacher of the Year (1999-2008)
Dr. Barnett has consistently demonstrated exceptional teaching commitment through courses spanning Circuits, Signals and Systems, and advanced Digital Signal Processing. His mentorship extends across undergraduate and graduate curricula, with notable contributions to ECE 631 (Topics in Digital Signal Processing) and ECE 634 (Statistical Signal Processing). The department has maintained robust academic programming under his leadership since 2008.
