Kevin Albuquerque, M.D., is a Professor and Chief of Gynecological Radiation Oncology Service at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He holds a medical degree from Bombay University, India, and completed residencies in surgical oncology and radiation oncology at institutions in India and the U.K. Dr. Albuquerque's career spans over two decades, including faculty roles at Loyola University Medical Center (2002–2012) and current leadership at UTSW.
His expertise lies in radiation oncology, particularly gynecological cancers, brachytherapy, and clinical trials. Key research focuses include optimizing adaptive radiotherapy, brachytherapy techniques, and investigating prognostic markers like MLH1 promoter hypermethylation in endometrial and cervical cancers. He has secured grants from Loyola Cancer Center and NIH, exploring breast brachytherapy, immune markers, and decision-making in breast cancer treatments.
