Kesha Fevrier is an Assistant Professor and Queen’s National Scholar affiliated with the Department of Gender Studies at Queen’s University. She also holds affiliations with Black Studies and the Department of Geography and Planning. Her research focuses on the intersection of race and space, particularly examining marginalized communities in the global South. She holds a B.A. from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, and MES and PhD degrees from York University.
Her research interests include Black Ecologies, Geographies of Waste, and Critical Environmental Justice Studies. A recent project explored electronic waste recycling in Ghana, highlighting how race and ethnicity shape urban geographies and informal workers’ experiences. Current work examines waste as a commodity and its socio-ecological impacts across geopolitical borders.
Awarded the Queen’s National Scholar distinction, Fevrier is committed to increasing accessibility for underrepresented students. She supervises graduate students with aligned research interests, prioritizing equity-seeking groups.
