Prof. Dr. Kerstin Michalik is a Professor of Education with a focus on Didactics of Social Sciences and Natural Sciences at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Education. Her academic career includes roles as Junior Professor (2002–2007) and Professor at the University of Luxembourg (2007–2010) before returning to Hamburg. She holds degrees in History, Philosophy, and Education from the University of Hamburg and Paris I Sorbonne. Her research emphasizes inclusive education, philosophical inquiry with children, historical learning, and teacher professionalization.
Key areas of expertise include fostering critical thinking through dialogue, integrating uncertainty into pedagogy, and promoting interdisciplinary approaches in science education.
