Kerstin Bach is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science, NTNU. She serves as research director of NorwAI research center, deputy head of the Data and Artificial Intelligence unit, and core member of Norwegian Open AI Lab. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from University of Hildesheim, Germany.
Her research focuses on applied artificial intelligence methods for knowledge-intensive decision support systems using heterogeneous data sources. Primary domains include e-health applications for back pain management, physical activity, sleep studies, and mental health.
Current projects include TrustLLM (EU HEU), LABDA (EU MSCA), Digi-FrailCare (NTNU Helse), AI-MENT (NTNU Helse), SmaRTWork (Research Council of Norway), Physical activity behavior study (NTNU Helse), SupportPrim (Research Council of Norway), and Exaigon (Research Council of Norway).
