Kershen Huang

Kershen Huang serves as an Associate Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance and Economics at Nova Southeastern University's H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship. He holds dual MS degrees in Economics and Finance from Texas A&M University, where he also earned his PhD in Finance in 2011, and a BA in Economics from National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan.

His research centers on empirical corporate finance with emphasis on investor heterogeneity, externalities, and firm policies. Key areas include the interplay between institutional ownership horizons and corporate social responsibility, geographic proximity in business relationships, treasury futures dynamics, and social capital's impact on leverage decisions. His work demonstrates how investor behavior and market structures influence capital pricing and corporate governance.

Huang's publication record spans top finance journals including Management Science, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Financial Management, revealing consistent focus on empirical analysis of capital markets and corporate decision-making. His recent work shows increasing attention to sustainability factors in finance and the microstructural aspects of trading behavior.

At Nova Southeastern University, Huang teaches undergraduate, MBA, and MS courses including Principles of Microeconomics, Personal Finance, and Honors seminars. He served as faculty advisor for the Personal Finance and Investments Association (2021-2022) and participates in the Farquhar Honors Program as Honors Liaison.
