معرفی
Kerry Breno is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Whitworth University, where he has been a faculty member since 2004. His research focuses on organic and inorganic chemistry, particularly in the areas of organometallic catalysis in aqueous solutions.
Education:
- Ph.D., University of Oregon
- M.S., University of Oregon
- B.S., University of Portland
Research Interests: Breno’s work explores organometallic chemistry in aqueous environments, with a focus on catalytic reactions mediated by water-soluble molybdocenes. His studies include synthesis and characterization of transition metal complexes, their applications in catalysis, and their role in organic/inorganic processes such as nitrile hydration to amides.
Awards:
- National Science Foundation IGERT Fellowship (2003-04)
- GAANN Teacher/Scholar Fellowship (2000-03)
- William C. Wilson Award (1998)
- American Institute of Chemists Award (1998)
- Collaborative Teaching Award (2010)
Advising/Grants: Advised students Jon Anderson and Amy Schlilaty. Secured NSF Scholars grant (2010) and STEM Summer Research Fellowship (2010).
Labs/Teams: Active in collaborative research, presenting at conferences like the American Chemical Society National Meeting and Council on Undergraduate Research.
