Kerlisha Broomes is an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at Mercy University, affiliated with the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. She graduated from Mercy University in 2023 and has since taught courses such as Conflict 1 in the undergraduate program. Her academic and professional background includes roles as a Sunday School teacher and Adult Leadership Instructor at Ramah Christian Center in the Bronx, where she cultivated her passion for education.
Research Focus: Her current research explores the relationship between family household structure and quality of life for parents during the COVID-19 pandemic, considering socio-contextual factors like gender, residence type, and ethnicity. She also investigates the impact of transformative learning experiences on student outcomes, including retention rates and skill development.
Community Engagement: As a Mercy University alumna, Broomes has actively contributed to campus life as a Peer Mentor, Orientation Leader, and member of the Mavs Give Back Club, emphasizing community service and student development.
