Keri Kornelson is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oklahoma since 2008. Her research spans harmonic analysis, focusing on frames in finite and infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, dynamical sampling, and fractal geometry. She has also contributed to mathematics education through projects like video games for calculus and collaborative teaching initiatives.
Research Interests: Dr. Kornelson's work integrates applied harmonic analysis, frame theory, signal processing, and fractal geometry. Recent projects include dynamical sampling with burst-like forcing terms and the study of Bernoulli convolutions' harmonic properties. She also explores educational technology, such as digital games to enhance student understanding of calculus concepts.
Grants & Leadership: She led the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI-IE3) grant for inclusive teaching evaluation and co-PIed an OU VPRP Seed Grant on DEI in research evaluation. She contributed to the NSF ADVANCE grant to reform faculty evaluations.
Teaching & Outreach: Kornelson has taught courses like Mathematics of Data, Functional Analysis II, and Calculus. She co-organized the RAMP UP seminar on pedagogical innovations and the OU Frames Seminar. Her educational projects include the Functions of the Machine game and multivariable calculus video resources.
