Kent Adsbøll Wickstrøm

Kent Adsbøll Wickstrøm is an Associate Professor in Organization and Entrepreneurship at the University of Southern Denmark, specifically within the Department of Business and Sustainability (DBS Kolding). He also serves as Head of Research Group for Supply Chain & Technology Management and maintains an affiliation with the Sino Danish Center for Education and Research in Beijing, China. His academic career at the University of Southern Denmark spans from Research Assistant (2001) through Assistant Professor (2005-2008) and Postdoc (2008-2009) to his current Associate Professor position (2009-present).

Wickstrøm's research focuses on mechanisms shaping entrepreneurial cognition, behavior, and performance, with particular emphasis on how country-level institutions influence entrepreneurial outcomes across different demographic groups. His work examines export aspirations, growth trajectories, innovation patterns, and well-being outcomes for entrepreneurs. A significant portion of his research investigates how small and medium-sized enterprises adapt to Industry 4.0 technologies, exploring implementation challenges and performance impacts.

His recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on digital transformation in manufacturing SMEs, with numerous studies examining supply chain resilience, additive manufacturing adoption, cybersecurity practices, and reshoring trends. These works frequently employ large-scale survey data from Danish manufacturing firms and leverage international comparative frameworks.

Wickstrøm actively supervises graduate students and teaches courses including Advanced Organization Theory, Organization Design, and International Management at the master's level. He has participated in numerous conferences as both presenter and program committee member, and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for journals including Organization Science and Management Information Systems Quarterly.
