Kensuke Suzuki is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Clark University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Pennsylvania State University (2023), and B.A. and M.A. degrees from Nagoya University, Japan (2013 and 2015). His research focuses on international trade, spatial economics, and labor economics, with an emphasis on globalization's impact on workers, firms, and regional economies. He has conducted studies on Japan’s immigration policy, Chinese trade liberalization, and structural changes in advanced economies.
His current research includes analyzing the implications of foreign employment on regional economies in Japan and developing quantitative models to study declining manufacturing. He has received grants from Hitotsubashi University, including a 2024-2026 project on manufacturing decline in advanced economies and a 2022-2024 study on agglomeration of firms in Japan. His work has been published in journals like Review of Development Economics and Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine.
