Kenneth K. Brandt is a Professor of English at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he has served since 1999. He holds a Ph.D. in English from Florida State University, complemented by an M.A. and B.A. in English from Florida State University and the University of the South, respectively. His academic work centers on Jack London, American literary naturalism, and comparative studies with authors like Ernest Hemingway and Cormac McCarthy.
Brandt is the Editor of The Call: The Magazine of the Jack London Society (since 2006) and Executive Coordinator of the Jack London Society (since 2014). He has guest edited special issues on Jack London and Hemingway, and contributed to documentaries about London's legacy. His research has been recognized with the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Fellowship at the Huntington Library (2005).
His publications include monographs like Jack London: Writers and Their Work (2017) and co-edited volumes such as Approaches to Teaching the Works of Jack London (2015). His articles explore themes like London's Gothic elements, Darwinian influences in Martin Eden, and legal dimensions in Hemingway's fiction.
