Kenneth E. Seligson is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He directs research on Classic Maya civilization, emphasizing socio-ecological adaptability to climate change. His 2022 Oxford University Press book reframes the Maya 'collapse' narrative by analyzing 700+ years of resilience strategies.
Research interests focus on:
- Human-environment dynamics in pre-Colonial Mesoamerica
- Resource conservation practices
- Archaeological analysis of climate adaptation
- Lidar-based landscape archaeology
