Dr. Kenneth Calvert is a full professor of ancient history at Hillsdale College, where he has served since 1996. He also directs the Oxford Study Abroad Program (since 1999) and previously served as headmaster of Hillsdale Academy (2002–2018). His research focuses on Hellenistic Greece, the Roman Republic, the rise of Christianity in the Roman Empire, early Islamic history, and classical education. Dr. Calvert holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Wheaton College, M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Th.M. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Ancient History from Miami University of Ohio.
- Awards: Emily Daugherty Award for Teaching Excellence (1999), Professor of the Year (2000)
- Global Engagement: Visiting scholar at Bristol and Oxford Universities (1988–1989), served Afghan refugees in Pakistan (1986)
