Kennedy Muhindo Wema

Kennedy Muhindo Wema is a PhD researcher-student at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM), affiliated with the Medical Anthropology Research Group. His work bridges journalism and ethnographic research, focusing on Ebola outbreaks and media dynamics in conflict zones.

Education:

• Master's in Journalism and Organizational Communications (2010) from Université Assomptioniste du Congo (UAC)

Research Interests: Kennedy explores human relations, Ebola epidemiology, ethics in global health, and the interplay between media coverage and public health crises. His current PhD project investigates how Ebola epidemics (2018–2020) influenced media editorial choices in Beni, DRC, analyzing mobility patterns and crisis communication in war-affected regions.

Professional Activities: He combines academic research with fieldwork as a journalist covering social policy and civic issues in DRC. His interdisciplinary approach merges investigative journalism techniques with anthropological field methods.
