Kendall H. Lee, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Neurosurgery and Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic. He serves as Director of Neural Engineering Laboratories and specializes in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. His clinical focus includes Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, psychiatric disorders, and chronic pain. He leads the Mayo Clinic Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Program and studies neuromodulation technologies funded by NIH and foundations.
Education: Completed residency and chief residency in Neurosurgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Yale University, MD from Yale, and a BA in Biology from University of Colorado, Denver.
Research interests include real-time DBS, selective stimulation, and precision surgery. He has developed technologies for closed-loop brain interventions and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques. Awards include the Mayo Clinic Distinguished Team Science Award and multiple teaching accolades.
