Kenan Huremović is an Assistant Professor at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy. His research focuses on theoretical and empirical analysis of social and economic networks, applied microeconomic theory, and empirics of networks. He holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute (2014), a Master of Research in Economics (2010), and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Sarajevo (2006).
His academic career includes roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Aix-Marseille School of Economics (2014–2017) and teaching positions at IMT Lucca, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna Pisa, and the University of Sarajevo. He has received grants such as the ANR Grant MaRiNe (2019–2022) and the PAI project ORCS (2019–2020).
Research interests include network formation, polarization dynamics, global supply chains, and the interplay between production and financial networks. His work bridges theoretical models with empirical analysis, addressing topics like contagion effects in economic development and information externalities in production networks.
