Ken Pitts is a Course Leader in CGI/VFX and a member of the Film and Media Research Group at Solent University. His academic roles include teaching Animation, VFX simulation, and scripting (Python, MAXScript). He holds a Master's in Computer Animation from Bournemouth University (2008) and a PhD titled A Centre of Mass Based Approach to the Rigging of Bipedal Characters for Key Frame Animation (2014).
Research focuses on character topology, architectural visualization, rendering techniques, and VFX workflows. Current projects include:
- Body Topology Comparison and Processing (2024–2025, PI)
- Photogrammetry for Heritage and Conservation (2022–2023, Co-PI with Scott)
