معرفی
Ken Krebs is a Professor of Physics at The University of Georgia. His research focuses on optical and electrical properties of sol-gel produced metal oxides, including studies on lanthanide impurity states and structural effects in ferroelectric materials. He leads the Materials Physics Laboratory and emphasizes innovative teaching methods, particularly the use of writing assignments to improve students' problem-solving skills.
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics (2000), University of Georgia
- M.Ed. in Science Education (1998), University of Georgia
- B.S. in Physics (1993), Georgia Institute of Technology
Research interests include sol-gel synthesis, luminescent materials, and material characterization through optical techniques. His publications span 2005–2008, addressing topics like europium site characterization and chromium spectroscopy in lithium niobate.
Teaching philosophy emphasizes diverse pedagogical approaches to engage students across different learning styles. Current focus: linking writing exercises to mastery of physical principles.
