Dr Ken Gale is a Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Society and Culture within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business at the University of Plymouth. His research focuses on the philosophy of education, research methodologies, and collaborative approaches to education practices, with a particular emphasis on theorizing beyond human-centric perspectives, creative and relational space making, and the interplay between discursive and material aspects of pedagogy. His upcoming book, Writing and Immanence: Concept making and the reorientation of thought in pedagogy and inquiry (Routledge, 2022), reflects his scholarly contributions.
Ken has supervised six doctoral candidates to completion and teaches modules on philosophy of education, gender studies, discourse theory, and narrative approaches to education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in advancing quality education (SDG 4).
His teaching integrates poststructural theory and autoethnographic methods, emphasizing their applications in teacher education and professional development. Ken has presented at international conferences and published widely on pedagogical inquiry and research practices.
