Professor Ken Cruickshank is Director of the Sydney Institute for Community Language Education at the University of Sydney's School of Education and Social Work. His research examines language and literacy in multilingual contexts, TESOL education, and community language preservation. He coordinates professional development programs for teachers working with linguistically diverse students.
Cruickshank leads major research projects including the ARC-funded 'Maximising Australia's Language Resources' study exploring language programs across NSW schools. His published work spans language education policy, bilingual identity formation, and teacher preparation for multicultural classrooms.
