Professor Kelton Tremellen serves as Strategic Professor of Reproductive Medicine at Flinders University's College of Medicine and Public Health and is a Full Member of the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute. Appointed to this position in 2015, he focuses on improving access to high-quality fertility treatment for individuals seeking parenthood.
Professor Tremellen graduated from the University of Adelaide with a medical degree (with honors) and a PhD in reproductive immunology, followed by clinical training in obstetrics, gynaecology, and reproductive medicine. His educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine, PhD, Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG), Certified sub-specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI), and a Graduate Certificate in Management.
His primary research focuses on the impact of nutrition on reproduction, which led to the development of the nutraceutical fertility supplement Menevit™ marketed by Bayer. Professor Tremellen passionately advocates for optimizing male and female nutrition and lifestyle before conception to maximize chances of having a healthy child. His other research interests include identifying and treating premature loss of ovarian reserve and investigating how poor nutrition and obesity trigger inflammation that impairs ovarian function, sperm production, and embryo implantation. His scholarly work demonstrates consistent productivity with research outputs spanning from 1993 to 2024, showing particular growth in publication volume since 2011.
Professor Tremellen has made significant scholarly contributions including editing the textbook Nutrition, Fertility and Human Reproductive Function (CRC Press) and serving on the editorial board of Human Reproduction. His work has been recognized through several prestigious awards:

- Royal Australian New Zealand College Obstetrics and Gynaecology 'Gold Medal' for first placed candidate in the MRANZCOG examination (2001)

With an h-index of 43 and over 7,722 citations, Professor Tremellen has published more than 70 original journal articles and book chapters, holds three patents covering innovations in reproductive medicine, and has worked at the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at Oxford University. As Medical Director of Repromed, Professor Tremellen bridges clinical practice with academic research.
