Kelsi Hobbs is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maine’s School of Economics, affiliated with the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry and Agriculture and the Maine Agricultural and Forest Experiment Station. Her work focuses on applied microeconomics, public economics, and urban economics to address policy issues affecting low- to moderate-income populations.

Hobbs’s research examines rental housing evictions, unemployment insurance effects, and housing stability policies. She also explores the economic impacts of science and technology parks and contributes to the economics media library for teaching.
Her academic appointments include a Hatch project (ME022302) titled Improving Community Well-Being through Housing. She teaches 50% of her time, offering courses in econometrics and microeconomics principles, while dedicating the remaining 50% to research.
