Dr. Kelly Willemssens is a Lecturer in Biological Sciences at Clemson University. She holds a PhD in Applied Ecology from University of Nebraska and researches behavioral ecology, population ecology, and conservation with focus on insect extremophiles and climate change impacts.
Her fieldwork investigates habitat characteristics and species distribution patterns, particularly in Yellowstone National Park ecosystems. Current research examines thermal adaptations in insect populations facing environmental change.

- Entomological Society of America Presentation Winner (2019)
- Science Slam Winner (2018)
She teaches courses in Field Ecology, Behavioral Ecology, and general Biology principles, with field research conducted in Costa Rica.
