Kelly Shannon-Henderson is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Classics at the University of Cincinnati. Her research focuses on Imperial period Greek and Latin literature, particularly the 1st-2nd centuries CE. She specializes in cultural memory theory applied to works like Tacitus' Annals, paradoxography in Imperial Greek texts, and the historiographical traditions surrounding Roman emperors.
Her major publications include the award-winning monograph *Religion and Memory in Tacitus’ Annals* (2019), a critical edition of Phlegon of Tralles' paradoxography, and co-edited works such as the forthcoming *Oxford Critical Guide to Tacitus*. Current projects include a commentary on Heraclides of Pontus' fragments and studies on imperial cult dynamics in Pliny's writings.
Dr. Shannon-Henderson's interdisciplinary work bridges classical historiography, religious studies, and gender theory. She explores how ancient authors constructed identity through religious narratives, marvels, and historical memory.
