Kelly Krumrie is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of English & Literary Arts at the University of Denver and teaches at the University of Colorado Boulder. Starting Fall 2025, she will be an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at New Mexico State University. She holds a PhD in English & Literary Arts (University of Denver, 2021), an MFA in Creative Writing (University of San Francisco, 2008), and degrees in Special Education and English. Her work bridges creative writing with interdisciplinary exploration of mathematics and science in art and literature.
Her research interests focus on the intersection of literary arts with scientific and mathematical concepts, evidenced by her column figuring in Tarpaulin Sky Magazine (2020–2022), analyzing works like Mel Bochner’s art and Renee Gladman’s poetics. She has published poetry collections No Measure (2024) and Math Class (2022), and her writing appears in Cleveland Review of Books, Black Warrior Review, and others.
Krumrie serves as editor of a row of trees: a journal of the sonic art research unit (2021–present), contributing editor of Annulet: A Journal of Poetics, and former prose editor of Denver Quarterly (2019–2021). Her editorial work emphasizes innovative textual and sonic art practices.
