Kek Boon Goh

Dr. Kek Boon Goh is a Senior Lecturer at the Malaysia School of Engineering, Monash University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and completed postdoctoral research at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Germany. His research focuses on adaptive materials for biosensing applications, particularly in polymeric systems and ion-exchange membranes, with contributions to soft robotics and sustainable development goals (UN SDGs).

Key research areas include ion partitioning in membranes, hydrogel mechanics, and smart material design. He leads and collaborates on projects such as Aerial perching for contact-based inspection in oilfield installations and Automatic Design of Soft Robotic Grippers. His work spans material science, chemical engineering, and biomedical applications, with publications in high-impact journals like Separation and Purification Technology and Desalination.

Dr. Goh is actively involved in supervising PhD students and has presented research globally, including in Singapore, Germany, France, Canada, and the U.S. His interdisciplinary approach bridges theory and application, addressing challenges in membrane technology, soft robotics, and biosensing.
