Keith Ransom is a Post Doctoral Researcher at the University of Adelaide's School of Psychology and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne's School of Psychological Sciences. He is affiliated with the Computational Cognitive Science Lab led by Andrew Perfors and Charles Kemp. His research focuses on social meta-inference, explainable reasoning, and everyday human reasoning processes. He employs computational modeling, simulations, and behavioral experiments to study reasoning at individual, group, and societal levels.
Research Interests:
- Extending theoretical models of human inference to communication and social consensus dynamics
- Impact of technology (e.g., AI, social networks) on trust and reasoning in information environments
- Development of tools for monitoring and promoting calibrated trust in shared information
Grants and Projects:
- MAGPIE: Monitoring And Guarding the Public Information Environment ($99,050)
- SOCRETIS: An AI-enabled collaborative reasoning aid ($150,000)
- Contextual anomaly detection tool ($100,000)
