Dr. Keith Jensen is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester's Division of Psychology Communication and Human Neuroscience. His research focuses on the evolution and psychological underpinnings of social behavior, particularly other-regarding concerns in humans and non-human primates. He employs experimental economics, game theory, and developmental psychology to study cooperation, prosociality, and moral cognition in children and primates.
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Evolution of Behaviour and Cognition and Sociality and Communication: Evolutionary Perspectives. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable communities and responsible consumption.
Recent research highlights include studies on children’s delay of gratification in interdependent contexts, the language of sharing in toddlers, and the boundaries of apology acceptance in social contexts. His collaborative projects explore cumulative cultural evolution, primate cooperative behavior, and the impact of anthropogenic disturbance on wildlife.
