Kehinde Ishangi is an Associate Professor in the School of Dance at Florida State University (FSU). She holds an MFA in Choreography and Performance from FSU and a BA in Dance Pedagogy from Brenau University. Her expertise spans Dance Conditioning, Science of Dance Training, and Gyrotonic methods. As a dance scientist, she founded The Ishangi Institute to advance dancer and athlete health through innovative practices.

Her research focuses on Movement Science and the integration of somatic practices into dance education. Ishangi has performed internationally with companies like Ballethnic Dance Company and Compagnie Georges Momboye, and currently participates in KM Dance Project and Narcisse/Movement Project.
Recognition includes the First Year Assistant Professor Award (2018) and a Dean’s Travel Grant (2017). She has presented work such as Boschimanne: Living Curiosities at the Women in Dance Leadership Conference (2018) and delivered talks like Sel-Care as Political Warfare at FSU’s Social Justice Symposium (2018).
Her creative works include Witnessing (2015) and Not My Enemy (2017), reflecting her commitment to contemporary dance innovation and social discourse.
