Keeva Terry

Professor Keeva Terry is a Professor of Law at Howard University School of Law, specializing in Wills, Trusts, & Estates, Federal Income Taxation, and Contracts. She holds an A.B. from Harvard University, an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. Her research focuses on addressing systemic wealth disparities through legal frameworks, particularly in taxation and property law.

Professor Terry played a pivotal role in passing the Maryland Partition of Property Act and the District of Columbia’s Partition of Real Property Act of 2023, which help families preserve generational wealth through real property. She contributed to the 2022 report Strengthening Probate Administration in the District of Columbia, proposing reforms to aid pro se litigants in probate matters. She advocates for expanded access to non-probate transfer mechanisms like transfer-on-death deeds to simplify asset distribution.
