Ke Wang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting and Business Analytics, Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta. His research focuses on capital markets, textual analysis of corporate disclosures, and stakeholder relations. He holds a PhD in Accounting from City University of Hong Kong (2015) and a BBA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2010).
Dr. Wang has received notable grants including SSHRC Insight Grant (2024–2028) as PI and multiple General Research Fund awards from Hong Kong RGC. His fellowships include Canadian Utilities Faculty Fellowship (2024–2025) and The Edmonton Journal Fellowship (2022–2023).
His research explores how corporate disclosures impact investor behavior and market efficiency, with recent work analyzing litigation risk's unintended consequences on investors and the role of stakeholder orientation in accounting conservatism. He frequently publishes in top journals like Contemporary Accounting Research and Journal of Accounting and Public Policy.
Teaching interests include managerial and financial accounting, with course ACCTG 222 focusing on management decision-making. His work has been featured in media including Phys.org and the University of Alberta's Folio.
