Kazuo Yamaguchi is the Ralph Lewis Professor of Sociology at the University of Chicago. He previously served as Department Chair (2008–2011) and held the Hanna Holborn Gray Professorship (2005–2013). His research focuses on statistical and mathematical models for social data, exchange networks, stratification and mobility, demography of family and employment, and gender inequality in Japanese society.
