Kayode Eesuola is the Deputy Director and Research Associate Professor at the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS), University of Lagos. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Lagos, focusing on the political interpretations of Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s songs, music, and behavior (1970–1997). His research expertise spans African political thought, governance, migration, and cross-border relations, with a current emphasis on reconfiguring African studies through indigenous knowledge systems. He leads the Governance and Financial Integrity and Migration and Cross-Border Relations research clusters at IADS.
Eesuola is a media personality and public affairs analyst, recognized for his work in bridging academic and public discourse. His accolades include the 2008 Junior Fulbright Scholarship and fellowships at the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute and North West University, South Africa. He has also contributed to interdisciplinary projects, such as a 18-month study on socio-political values of Ifa in Nigeria and Benin Republic.
