معرفی
Kayeon Kim serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, where she leads the Neuronal Signalling research group. Her work bridges fundamental neuroscience and neuroengineering to investigate brain function and dysfunction.
Her research spans neuronal communication at single-cell and circuit levels, neurovascular coupling mechanisms, hippocampal network dynamics during memory processes, and development of precision neuromodulation technologies. Key focus areas include:
- Micro-coil based neural stimulation for seizure control
- Spatiotemporal relationships between blood flow and neural activity
- Neurovascular alterations in aging and disease
- Hippocampal oscillation patterns in learning and memory consolidation
Analysis of her 2023-2025 publications reveals a cohesive research trajectory integrating engineering solutions with neuroscience questions. Her work consistently addresses translational challenges in epilepsy treatment and age-related cognitive decline through innovative methodologies like intracortical microstimulation and MEMS device development.
Based at Blegdamsvej 3B in Copenhagen, she maintains active collaborations across neuroscience and engineering disciplines as evidenced by multi-institutional publications and international media coverage of her research.
