Kay Strahan serves as an Assistant Professor and Northwest Campus Librarian at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), with liaison responsibilities to the College of Health Professions at the Northwest Campus, Northwest Campus Colleges and Programs, and the Institute for Community Health Innovation. Her professional focus centers on reference instruction and medical library services across UAMS's statewide healthcare system.
Dr. Strahan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Arkansas in 2016, followed by a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2018. She maintains active membership in the Medical Library Association South Central Chapter, Medical Library Association, and Arkansas Library Association, reflecting her commitment to professional development in health sciences librarianship.
Her research interests span systematic searching methodologies, virtual library services during pandemic conditions, community health engagement through mobile technology, and scholarly communication practices. Recent publications demonstrate her focus on adapting library services to emerging challenges in healthcare information delivery, particularly examining how libraries can maintain service continuity during disruptions while supporting evidence-based practice in clinical settings.
