Kay Bhatara is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at the University of Wolverhampton’s School of Pharmacy, part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She holds a Master of Pharmacy from the University of Bradford and has completed advanced certifications including a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Community Pharmacy (Distinction, Aston University) and a Clinically Enhanced Independent Prescribing Certificate (University of Birmingham). She is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).
Before academia, Kay worked in community pharmacy roles with Boots, including Pharmacy Manager positions, and held clinical roles with Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group and Stirchley Medical Practice. Her expertise spans clinical prescribing, medication safety, and healthcare education. At the University, she supports undergraduate students in securing training placements and mentors graduates during their Foundation Training Year.
Awarded a Distinction for her Clinical Community Pharmacy studies, Kay’s professional contributions focus on bridging clinical practice and academic training. She currently works full-time, contributing to pharmacy education and advancing practice-oriented research in medication management and healthcare systems.
