Kaveh Jorabchi is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Georgetown University, where he has led innovative research since joining the faculty in 2011. Promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2018, he directs a dynamic research group focused on advancing mass spectrometry techniques for biomedical, environmental, and forensic applications.
His academic journey includes a B.S. from Sharif University of Technology (2001), a Ph.D. from The George Washington University (2006), postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2006-2009), and industry experience as a Research Scientist at Syagen Technology Inc. (2009-2011).
Prof. Jorabchi's research centers on fundamental gas-phase ion chemistry and the development of novel analytical methods. His group pioneers techniques in single-cell analysis, ambient ionization, and trace explosive detection, with emphasis on both mechanistic understanding and practical instrumentation for real-world challenges.
His publication record demonstrates consistent innovation in mass spectrometry, particularly in droplet-based ionization, trace analysis, and biomedical applications, reflecting a strong integration of fundamental science with security and health-focused solutions.
He received the prestigious Georgetown University Provost's Distinguished Associate Professor Award in 2020.
