Kaveh Abhari

Kaveh Abhari is a Professor at the Fowler College of Business, San Diego State University, where he directs the Digital Innovation Lab (DiLab) and co-founded the STEMD² R&D Group. With dual PhDs in Communication and Information Sciences and Strategic Marketing Management, plus 20+ years in industry, he bridges digital innovation, human-centered systems, and entrepreneurship education.

His research explores open innovation platforms, responsible AI design, and digital transformation across domains. He has secured multiple US Department of Education grants for projects like Project Hoʻokuʻi and Ne’epapa Ka Hana, focusing on inclusive education and employee experience management. His teaching spans Business Intelligence, Digital Innovation, and Data Analytics, emphasizing ethical reflection and practical application.

Recent articles highlight his work on agentic self-governance in AI, generative AI presence, blockchain applications in sharing economy, and sustainable ML solutions. His research consistently examines human-technology interaction, collaborative innovation, and socially responsible systems, with a focus on empowering marginalized communities through digital democratization.
