Kaushik Jayaram is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, leading the Animal Inspired Movement and Robotics Laboratory (AIMRL). His research focuses on bioinspired robotics, biomechanics, and robust locomotion, aiming to develop robots that mimic nature's resilience and adaptability for applications like search and rescue, environmental monitoring, and industrial inspection. Jayaram's work integrates principles from biology to design miniature robots capable of navigating confined spaces and surviving harsh conditions.
